An izakaya is a type of drinking establishment which also serves food to accompany the drinks. (Thank you, wikipedia) There are many different kinds, all over Tokyo. Some of them, like this one, are themed! This theme would best be described as prison break?
The drinks were all served in beakers and looked like science experiments, and the waiters were dressed up as prisoners and guards.
After a certain time, the lights in the building turned off (there were blacklights) and the waiters and waitresses ran around scaring everyone..
Not entirely sure why we were sitting with boys on one side and girls on the other..
